DETROIT, Mich. (June 9, 2025) – The Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear has made a triumphant return to Downtown Detroit, showcasing an exhilarating blend of motorsports, music, and family entertainment. The event, held from May 30 to June 1, achieved remarkable milestones, reporting its highest attendance, viewership, and social media engagement since relocating to the city streets.

In its third consecutive year at this iconic venue, the Grand Prix welcomed approximately 156,000 attendees over the three-day festival, reflecting a 4% rise in total attendance compared to the previous two years. The surge in ticket sales corresponding to a 10% increase in overall revenue signifies the event's growing popularity among racing enthusiasts.

The racing action drew significant attention, as the NTT INDYCAR SERIES race broadcast on June 1 reached an average audience of 1.061 million viewers on FOX and its streaming platforms. This figure marks a staggering 75% increase from the 2024 race, making it the third-most viewed INDYCAR SERIES race of the season, trailing only the prestigious Indianapolis 500 and the season opener in St. Petersburg. Notably, the Detroit race attracted a youthful audience, with more viewers aged 18-34 than any other series event outside the Indy 500 this year.

Detroit once again emerged as the top local market in the U.S. for the race broadcast, achieving a 3.04 rating and a 14.25 share on FOX 2 Detroit, showcasing the city’s unwavering support for motorsports.

Fans experienced one of the most competitive Detroit Grand Prix events in recent memory, with thrilling races taking place on the nine-turn, 1.7-mile street circuit. The weekend featured dynamic performances in both the Chevrolet INDYCAR Grand Prix and the Chevrolet Sports Car Classic, which highlighted intense battles and strategic passing.

“We are thrilled with the success of the 2025 Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear,” expressed Michael Montri, President of the event. “A heartfelt thank you goes out to our fans, competitors, 93 event partners, and over 1,200 volunteers who contributed to this unforgettable weekend. The combination of phenomenal racing, enthusiastic crowds, impressive viewership, and active social media interaction has truly put Detroit in the spotlight.”

In addition to its racing achievements, the Grand Prix reinforced its commitment to community support with the annual PwC Grand Prixmiere presented by Chevrolet. This fundraising event, now in its 11th year, raised nearly $1.8 million for five Detroit-area organizations, including the Belle Isle Conservancy, Boys and Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan, Detroit Public Safety Foundation, Detroit 300 Conservancy, and the Pope Francis Center in Detroit. Since its inception in 2014, the Grand Prixmiere has raised nearly $10 million for local charities, further solidifying the event's role in uplifting the community.

The 2025 Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix not only thrilled racing fans but also delivered a powerful message of community spirit and support, marking a significant chapter in the event's storied history.
