Barcelona’s Place in Formula 1 Calendar Confirmed Until 2032

Formula 1 has confirmed that the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will

remain on the Formula 1 calendar until 2032. The new agreement secures

the future of the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona under a long-term

contract extension. The deal strengthens Spain’s position within the

championship and reinforces Barcelona’s status as a key European venue

in the F1 race schedule.

The Barcelona F1 contract extension provides stability for teams, fans,

and regional stakeholders. The circuit has hosted Formula 1 for decades

and continues to play an important role in the development of the sport.

With this agreement, Formula 1 ensures continuity in the European leg of

the championship while maintaining one of its most established racing

destinations.

The new agreement between Formula 1 and the Circuit de

Barcelona-Catalunya extends the current partnership through the 2032

season. This Barcelona F1 contract extension ensures that the Spanish

Grand Prix remains a fixed event on the Formula 1 calendar 2032 and

beyond. The decision reflects Formula 1’s strategy to maintain stable

European venues while expanding into new global markets.

Barcelona has served as a regular host of the Spanish Grand Prix since

1991. The circuit remains a preferred track for teams due to its

balanced layout and technical demands. Its role in pre-season testing

over previous seasons has also strengthened its value within the

championship structure. The renewed agreement confirms that Spain

continues to hold an established position in Formula 1’s long-term

planning.

The inclusion of Barcelona in the Formula 1 calendar until 2032 supports

the championship’s objective of balancing tradition with commercial

growth. While Formula 1 continues to add new venues across North

America, the Middle East, and Asia, established European circuits remain

central to the sport’s identity. The Spanish Grand Prix contributes

historical continuity and competitive integrity to the overall schedule.
