Formula E is actively pursuing a long-term contract with Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands to host races from 2027 onward, according to championship CEO Jeff Dodds.
Dodds revealed that discussions with Zandvoort’s management have taken place over recent
months, especially as the Dutch venue is set to lose its spot on the Formula 1 calendar after the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix.
He described Zandvoort as an “amazing circuit” and believes it could be an excellent fit for
Formula E’s new Gen4 electric car, which debuts in 2027. The Gen4 car is expected to deliver
around 600 kW of power and performance comparable to, or exceeding, Formula 2 machinery.
Dodds said the venue’s existing infrastructure, paddock space and location close to
Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport make it particularly attractive. Rather than staging just a one-off race, Formula E wants to negotiate a multi-year contract to make Zandvoort a regular stop on its global calendar.
At the time of writing, no official agreement has been announced, but both sides are in
constructive talks about Zandvoort’s future with the all-electric series.
