IndyCar is gearing up for a dynamic 2026 season, with plans to return to familiar venues and
explore exciting new markets. NASCAR, meanwhile, is rolling out its full 2026 calendar, bringing back recent favorites and introducing seasonal game-changers.
The 2026 IndyCar season is set to kick off with the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on
March 1, followed by a crossover weekend in Phoenix. IndyCar will race on March 7th at the
reconfigured Phoenix Raceway, with NASCAR’s Cup Series taking the marquee slot on March
8th.
IndyCar’s return to Phoenix comes after a nearly eight-year hiatus—its last race there was in
2018—and the venue may also resume its role as a preseason testing site.
Next up is the Grand Prix of Arlington in Texas, a fresh addition taking place on March 15th,
featuring a street circuit around the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers stadiums.
Confirmed races include Long Beach (April 19th), the Sonsio Grand Prix at Indianapolis Motor Speedway (May 9th), the Indianapolis 500 (May 24th), and the Detroit Grand Prix (May 31th).
Legendary tracks like Barber Motorsports Park, Road America, Mid-Ohio, Toronto (potentially
relocated to Markham, Ontario due to the World Cup), Laguna Seca, Portland, Milwaukee, and
Nashville remain under consideration.
IndyCar 2026 Schedule Overview:
March 1 – St. Petersburg (Grand Prix)
March 7 – Phoenix
March 15 – Arlington (new street race)
April 19, May 9, May 24, May 31 – Key fixtures
