The World Rallycross Championship will bring its 2025 campaign to a close with a double-header weekend at Istanbul Park after the FIA was unable to secure a venue for the planned season finale.

When the calendar was first revealed, the final race was left without a host, with hopes of adding a new location. After months of discussions, the FIA confirmed no suitable option emerged. Instead, Turkey will stage the final two rounds on 20th and 21st September, ensuring the championship maintains its six-race schedule.

The governing body, which took over as promoter at the start of the year, described the decision as part of its commitment to the long-term stability of World RX. The 2025 campaign will also mark the shortest season since the championship began in 2014.

FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem said Istanbul Park offers a fitting stage for the finale, praising the backing of Türkiye Otomobil Sporları Federasyonu. He emphasized that closing the season in Turkey reflects the FIA’s drive to secure growth, inspire new talent, and deliver excitement to fans worldwide.

“By bringing the 2025 season to a thrilling close with a double-header at Istanbul Park with the support of Türkiye Otomobil Sporları Federasyonu, we are delivering a fitting finale to a competitive year, while reinforcing our long-term commitment to the championship’s growth and sustainability" he stated.
