After sitting silent for years, one of North Carolina’s beloved short tracks is roaring back to life.

Coastal Plains Raceway have formed a new partnership with Speedway Plus Productions LLC who will manage the track. Previously named the ‘New River All-American Speedway’ the track re-opens on August 9 with SMART Modified Tour scheduled in for Friday, August 29.

The once-bustling venue, long a hub for local racing culture, is now under new management with bold plans to restore its legacy. The leadership team is focused on rebuilding trust, modernizing operations, and reviving fan enthusiasm. With infrastructure upgrades, revamped race formats, and community-focused programming, the reopening marks more than a comeback—it’s a new chapter in grassroots racing. This isn’t just about racing; it’s about reigniting a tradition.

The team behind the reopened North Carolina race track isn't just managing logistics—they're reshaping expectations. Committed to preserving the spirit of short track racing, they’ve implemented structural upgrades and are crafting a fan-friendly experience. Their strategy leans on both nostalgia and innovation, hoping to draw longtime racing fans and new audiences alike.

A refreshed calendar of events is set to debut soon, with races designed to spotlight local talent and touring series. By partnering with regional sponsors and racing organizations, the new management aims to embed the track deeply back into North Carolina’s motorsport culture.

Local response to the race track reopening has been overwhelmingly positive. Fans, racers, and business owners see it as more than a sporting revival—it’s a boost for the area’s economy and identity. The renewed energy surrounding the track is already leading to increased tourism interest and community events tied to race weekends.

Looking forward, the management team is focused on sustainability and consistent growth. They’ve outlined a multi-year plan that includes driver development programs, educational partnerships, and facility enhancements, all aimed at securing the track’s role in regional racing for years to come.

The reopening of this North Carolina race track stands as a milestone for short track racing in the region. With a strong leadership vision and community-driven goals, the facility is poised to be more than a racing venue—it’s becoming a cultural landmark again. By focusing on operational transparency, fan experience, and local partnerships, the new management signals long-term commitment to regional motorsports.
