Pradera Verde Circuit Breaks Ground as PH's Largest Race Track

A major milestone in Philippine motorsports has begun in Lubao, Pampanga. The long-anticipated Pradera Verde Circuit has officially broken ground, reviving a vision first introduced in 2018. Originally conceptualized by Hermann Tilke, the renowned Formula 1 circuit designer, the newly updated plan reflects a more compact but ambitious direction. With construction now underway, this next-generation Philippine race track is poised to reshape the country's motorsport landscape—and boost motorsport tourism in the region.

The Pradera Verde Circuit enters its construction phase with a fresh layout, smaller in scale yet richer in purpose. Covering 42 hectares, the circuit will house a dedicated drag strip, a distinctive V-shaped pit building with 44 garages, and exclusive trackside villas. These additions not only highlight its ambition but also reinforce its potential as a premium destination for motorsport tourism. Despite being more compact than originally planned, the new design remains under the expert guidance of Tilke Engineers & Architects.

The completed Pradera Verde Circuit will stretch 4.8 kilometers with 17 turns, exceeding the length of the Clark International Speedway. Designed with multiple configurations, it aims to accommodate various local racing events—from endurance races to one-make series. Though its FIA certification is yet to be confirmed, the layout is likely to support Grade 3 or 4 standards. While Formula 1 races are off the table for now, the track is primed to energize the local racing community and attract new events.

The Pradera Verde Circuit marks a turning point for Philippine motorsports. By late 2026 or early 2027, the country will welcome its largest and most versatile race track to date. While not yet Formula 1-ready, its scale, layout, and amenities are set to elevate the standard for local racing venues. With infrastructure built for both competition and tourism, it positions itself as a vital hub in the region's growing motorsport tourism economy.
